Mobileshop Online Review
MobileShop is a site selling mobile phones. It has a huge range of different phones available, on a variety of networks and with lots of different tariffs available.
When you go to the site, the front page looks a little crowded with a lot of information all on one page together and lots of offers to look at and generally very busy feeling, but it’s actually laid out quite well with the ability to search for the make or type of handset you want, or the provider you want and then within each of those to look at the offers available. You can also choose to be much more specific about what you want by using their quick search facility which lets you put in which tariff type, manufacturer, network you want, along with stating if you’re after free minutes, texts and free gift. There’s also the ability to do an advanced search as well where you can include even more information.
There is a special section on the site dedicated to phones that come with a free gift as well. It’s divided into sections based on what the free gift is, so if you want to see all the phones available that come with a free gift of say a laptop then you’d click on that, or for all those that come with a free Wii then you’d click on the Free Wii section. The same applies for all the different free gifts like cashback, sat nav, playstation 3, tv, ipod and xbox.
MobileShop also has a section for ringtones, games and wallpapers. There are some great games featured on there, like Turrican, IQ test and monopoly. Another section on the site is dedicated to ‘coming soon mobile phones’ so if you’re thinking of getting one, but want to be absolutely completely up to the minute you can see what’s about to become the latest trend and make sure you get in there right at the beginning. The site also has it’s own blog, where they tell you all the latest mobile phone news, and have handset reviews and things. There is also a newsletter that you can sign up to as well.
One lovely thing that the site has is a live support feature so that if you get stuck trying to find something out you can ask someone directly. This works just like msn or any other chat facility and is one to one, and when I used it, the person I spoke to was very helpful and answered everything I needed them to.
Payment methods that are available are Visa Delta Switch/Maestro MasterCard and American Express. Solo cards are also accepted, but only on certain contracts (dependant on the mobile phone provider), and there are some restrictions and additional information that’s required when using them. Delivery is normally free, unless you require a specific delivery time, or want the phone sent to a business address.
