The Carphone Warehouse is one of the largest mobile phone companies in the UK, and it’s online store is no exception. Offering a hugely wide range of mobile phones and deals to it’s customers with pretty much something to suit every taste and pocket.

The site is laid out so that you can look for specific phones, tariffs or deals, or search amongst the offers in many different ways till you find something that suits you.
They have a section specifically about phones that come with free gifts, which is then sub divided according to what the free gift is that’s on offer, you can choose from things such as a Wii, Nintendo DS Lite, Sony Playstation, or even a laptop or Xbox.
There is another section specifically about cashback/cheque back offers as well. This includes both automatic cashback offers, and those where you have to specifically request the cashback at a specific point or points during the contract. These offers are very good, and can often lead to you getting a decent phone, and a good number of minutes and texts per month at a very very low price, but with those where you have to request the cashback, you do need to be pretty on the ball as if you don’t send off for the money at the right time and provide exactly the information they ask for then you will end up losing out quite substantially.

Carphone Warehouse has a price promise which is there for the benefit of it’s customers. (Applies to price drops on mobile phone handsets sold with a network connection only – excludes iphones, pda’s and accessories) It basically says that if the price you paid for your handset on the same network and tariff is higher than the price listed in their following months buyers guide, they will send you a credit voucher for the difference. There are a few terms and conditions of course, but you can find those on the site. What they’re basically doing is saying if we lower the price in the next month then we’ll give you a credit note for the difference to spend with us another time. Good for them as you’ll come back, and good for you as you know that if the price does drop then you’re covered and won’t have lost out.
The site also has some useful extras, such as a consumer help and advice section covering issues such as driving whilst using a phone, crime and safety and avoiding obtrusive calls. It also has another very useful section which shows tariffs and call charges for the various mobile phone networks so that you can easily compare them.
Payment is via Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, Delta, Solo, Duet, American Express and Diners. Delivery is free to all mainland addresses, and orders over £50 in value are normally delivered next day by courier. (The exception to this is laptops which all incur a £14.99 delivery fee, and are delivered 28 days after connection).
